How are you ? Hope you are in good health. In the previous article, I had shared with you the Incredible health benefits of tomatoes. Now, today I am sharing with you recipes of tomato sauce or chutney. Chutneys are also called cold sauce but chutneys called in hindi are made by cooking and without cooking both.  I am sharing recipes of cooked tomato sauce.


Delicious & Healthy Recipes Of Tomato Sauces Or Chutneys.




These chutneys will be little bit sweet & tangy, hot & spicy. However, you can add spice according to your taste in these recipes. These chutneys are very good for pizza, for bread pizza, as bread spread and will go good with chapatis (phulkas or roti), paranthas and even with rice-dal etc. You can add it to your breakfast or lunch or dinner menu with almost anything.


These tomato sauces are used in various food recipes as ingredients.





Make delicious sandwiches and roll with these healthy cold sauces, cooked sauces or chutneys. You will enjoy their flavor & health benefits of these cold sauces as they contain goodness of tomatoes and other ingredients. I am sharing here two recipes of tomato chutneys here. These healthy chutneys also show positive effects on beauty as when you are healthy from inside, it reflects in your beauty

RECIPE - 1 πŸ…πŸ…πŸ…


First recipe of tomato chutney.Second recipe of tomato chutney.



Ingredients : 

1).  Tomatoes of good quality - 1/2 kg.
 You can take any types of red tomatoes but it will be nice if you take with more pulp rather than tomatoes with more water.

2). Green chillies - 3-4 ( as per your taste you can decrease the quantity.

3). Onion - 1

4). Garlic - 6-7 cloves

5). Basil leaves - 5-7 (dried)

6). Oregano - 1/2 a teaspoon

7).  Salt to taste

This tomato sauce or chutney contain healthy ingredients.


8). Chilli flakes - less than 1/2 teapspoon

9). Paprika or red chilli powder ( as per your taste, optional)

10). Black pepper powder (as per your taste)

11). Olive oil

12). Sugar - 1 teaspoon (optional)

Recipes of healthy & tasty tomato sauce or chutney.



Steps - 

1). In a pan, add a little bit of olive oil. Heat it. You can also take any vegetable oil you use instead of olive oil.

2). Add garlic cloves, onion slices in to it. Saute it on low flame. Then, add green chillies into it. You can add deseeded green chillies if you want. You don't need to let it overcooked. When they appear little transparent, you can tomatoes cut into halves. 

4). Add salt to taste. Now, let it cook until you can easily mash tomatoes.  Keep checking.

5). When tomatoes are easily mashed, add red chilli flakes, oregano into it. You can add paprika or red chilli powder and black pepper powder here. Then, add dried basil into it. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Add sugar here which is optional. And turn off the gas flame.

6). Let it cool. And then grind it into a blender. Now, take this cold sauce into a bowl. Add a little bit olive oil from above. You can store it into refrigerator for few more days. Enjoy this chutney specially in pizza and bread pizza etc.





RECIPE - 2 πŸ…πŸ…πŸ…

Ingredients :

1). Red Tomatoes of good quality ( any; pulpy will be best ) - 1/2 kg.

2). Red dried chillies - 5-6 or as per your taste. You can soak it in water for one hour.

3). Salt to taste

4). Garlic cloves - 6-8

5). Red chilli powder or paprika

6). Sugar - 1 teaspoon (optional)

7). Oil to cook

8). Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp.

9). Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp.

10). Fennel seeds - 1/2 tsp.

11). Coriander powder - 1 tsp.














Steps :

1). Blend tomatoes, red chilli and garlic cloves in a mixer grinder.

2). Add oil in a pan. On heating, add cumin seeds in it. Then, mustard seeds in it. On crackling, add the paste into it.

3). Cook on a low flame. Add salt to taste in it. Salt helps in faster cooking also. Add coriander powder into it and cook for few minutes.


               

                





4). Add red chilli powder as per your taste into it. Cook till it leaves oil on the edges of the pan. Add dried fenugreek leaves powder if you like. You can also add sugar here. These two things are totally optional. Garnish it with fresh mint and coriander leaves.

5). You can also add little garam masala if you want to make it more spicy & you can skip red chilli powder if you don't like that much spice.













So, friends these are the two recipes of tomato chutneys. Hope you enjoyed it ! Chutneys are called cold sauces in English. They are made by simply grinding or blending but chutneys are also made by cooking ingredients and they are also called sauces. Try out these recipes and share your experience.
